Mud at the Walls

Postby camel » Wed Mar 18, 2009 9:46 pm

Went this weekend. With this much water - creeks were up big time.

Trail up the walls from the cemetary was okay until last few hundred yards- trail may need to be re worked due to some wash as well as the " muck mud" that just lets you slide. The stream was roaring like i had never seen.

Not sure who is working area but the empty field on right just past foot bridge over huricane creek had improvements with big posts and lines to hang your bags . Also some one hade cut a cord or so of wood and had stacked under a tarp. I am thinking over flow for boy scouts as my trip there last winter was in presence of 150 or so souts for a jamboree.

Some one has built some nice benches by cemetary and big pile of gravel in main field - thinking maybe they are going to build up like savage gulf with "privies" ?

This is a great area- just a tough "slog" back up the hill in the mud!

I've been twice and both times were during the drought so not much water. I've got to go back after a rain now that the drought is over.

I already dread that climb back out though!
